But the liquid nitrogen cryogenic freezer is slightly different. It cannot go to the gas company due to its large volume. It usually uses a liquid nitrogen supply tank to replenish liquid nitrogen, and it is originally stored in the vapor phase. So can it be filled with liquid nitrogen without leaving any space? The vapor phase mode of the liquid nitrogen cryogenic freezer is realized because the sample and liquid nitrogen are divided into large trays. The liquid nitrogen has its own separate storage area and only provides evaporated nitrogen to the upper sample. There is no intersection with the sample. Injecting liquid nitrogen does not pass through the upper part. There is a pipeline directly connected to the liquid nitrogen storage area and transported through the pipeline.

Therefore, the liquid nitrogen cryogenic freezer can be filled with liquid nitrogen, and there is no need to consider leaving a vapor phase space, because its sample storage area is the gas phase space. There is no need to fill the liquid nitrogen too full, causing the naturally volatile nitrogen to expand in the container. Opening the lid directly may cause the container to burst.

In addition, although the liquid nitrogen cryogenic freezer supports both gas and liquid phase modes, this method is usually not used because the container capacity is too large, too much liquid is added, and it is difficult to intelligently manage samples after filling. If you use it, you also need to pay attention to leaving a space for the vapor phase!
