There are many problems in the use of liquid nitrogen tanks. Aside from the quality, there are the problems of liquid nitrogen replenishment, storage tank cleaning and liquid nitrogen tank handling, which basically focus on the precautions for use.
Today, Tianchi will take you to learn the precautions for liquid nitrogen tank rehydration, cleaning and handling.
Regardless of the volume of the liquid nitrogen tank, for safety reasons, it must be replenished when the liquid nitrogen is only 1/3 of the total capacity.
After the liquid nitrogen tank has been used for a period of time, moisture will accumulate inside and mixed with bacteria, which is very detrimental to the activity of the sample. It is recommended to clean it regularly every year.
Follow these steps:
1.Take out the handle and liquid nitrogen from the container, wait for about two days, and wait for the temperature inside the container to rise to close to 0°C.
2.Inject warm water or neutral detergent at 40℃-50℃ into the liquid nitrogen tank, scrub with a cloth, and then rinse with water.
3.Invert the container to dry it, either by natural air drying or by hot air drying.
The temperature is limited between 40°C and 50°C, and hot air above 60°C cannot be used, so as not to affect the performance of the liquid nitrogen tank and reduce the service life.
When the liquid nitrogen tank is transported by a vehicle, the liquid nitrogen will oscillate with the vibration of the vehicle, and the loss of liquid nitrogen will increase compared with the static state.
Of course, the specific loss depends on the volume of the container. For example, a 10-liter liquid nitrogen tank has an eight-hour delivery time on the day, and the loss is about 100 grams (0.12 liters).
Therefore, during transportation, in order to ensure the storage of liquid nitrogen, the liquid nitrogen tank should be fixed, and the liquid nitrogen tank should be strictly prevented from being overturned during transportation, resulting in losses.
